1390-1400 French Bassinet and Visor

Bassinet and Visor from a Bassinet

Possibly made in France ca. 1390-1400

More similar at a French Bassinet
"Armure de Charles VI. Trésor de la cathédrale de Chartres."

Dimensions:
Bassinet: 11 9/16 × 7 3/16 × 9 7/16 inches (29.4 × 18.2 × 23.9 cm)
Visor: 7 3/4 × 7 5/8 × 8 3/16 inches (19.7 × 19.3 × 20.8 cm)
Weight 5.5 lb. (2.5 kg)

This bassinet is a rare, well-preserved example of a once relatively common type of knightly helmet. The holes along its lower edge are for securing a lining (now lost) on the interior, and a camail (neck defense of mail) on the exterior, which extended around the neck onto the shoulders.
